The Venue: The Chinese Garden and the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom Portland Oregon
The Photographer Portland Oregon Wedding Photographer : Juan Carlos Torres
Wow, what a great time we had photographing Teila and Beau in Portland last week. As you can see from the photos they are nice looking and happy and we had a a hard time selecting the photos to print. We started with getting ready and formal pictures at the Old Church, one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in Oregon.
After that we went to the the Chinese garden for a photo session with the couple. Right before the ceremony Teila changed into the most beautiful red wedding dress. Everybody at the ceremony was simply stunned at the elegance and beauty of the bride. We couldn’t stop taking pictures.
After the ceremony we took a few pictures at the roof of a parking structure with an overview of the city. Right after that Teila and Beau made their official entrance at the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom for the reception.
There wasn’t a single moment of this wedding that wasn’t extraordinary as you can see from the photos. We really enjoyed it.

WOW. those are amazing pictures, it was such a wonderful day,Teila and Beay make a beautiful couple, I am so gald we could be a part of their special day.
Michelle Scrivner
OH MY GOSH! Those are the most gorgeous pictures I think I’ve ever seen! You need to submit those to a bride’s magazine or something. Wow! She looks like a Hepburn woman. Were some of the photos taken at Seaside?
Rhinda Hale
Wow!! I am so sorry I missed it!! Can you do it again for me, please?!
Congratulations and Best Wishes to you both!
Cheryl Sylvia
You guys are amazing and the photographs are breathtaking! What a wonderful day!
Jennifer Shook (Mother of the Bride)
Hi! These are just wonderful photos! I also agree that they should be submitted to some brides magazine. I think Teila should become a wedding model! Wishing you all the best!
God Bless,

Here are a few images from Meggan and Chris wedding in Albany Oregon. We didn’t have a single boring moment with this couple. The difficult task was to select the photos to be printed. We had lots and lots of great images. It was a hot day and we sweat a lot
but at the end Meggan and Chris were really happy with their wedding photos.

I was photographing the formals with the beautiful blue sky behing and I wanted to basically overpower the available light to get a deep blue sky so I brought a big studio flash with a photo umbrella. The photos were looking good and I continue to shoot almost at full flash power. As soon as I took the last photo the light just melted. Fortunatelly, I always carry back ups and the flash light company are sending me a replacement.

At the end of the day when the magic light came we took a a short walk to the vineyard for these beatiful photos. We were so impressed with Ciera and Nathan and kept telling them that they could be models any time. Their love and passion is amazing. We had a great time photographing them and on top of that they fed us a paid us to do it

A beautiful couple at Beckenridge Vineyard one of the most beautiful wedding locations in Oregon plus our artistic touch = great photos.
We really enjoyed working with Ciera and Nathan. Did I say they beautiful and that they rock?.

Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Erica and Jake. The couple got ready at teh Phoenix Grand Hotel in downtown Salem, Oregon. After we took a few family and wedding party photos, we followed them to St. Edward Church in Keizer, Oregon. It was at the church that Mr. Weathers saw Erica for the first time in her bridal attire. It was hard to contain the tears as this was a very emotional moment. The couple was surrounded by their family and friends. This was probably the best attended wedding. The church was full. Their perfect day culminated with a wonderful reception at the Weathers home in North Salem. The property overlooks a extensive hop fields which also made a statement in the decorations both at St. Edward Church and in the massive white tent used for the reception.
After dinner, we took a few minutes with Erica and Jake to capture a few photos around the property just prior to sunset.
Juan Carlos and Sandra: The pictures look great! It was a pleasure working with you and we can’t wait to see the rest!    Erica and JakeÂ

I’m Ellie (from Philippines)I took up fine arts- interior design and had a passion w/ photos but didn’t have much reason to pursue it….now I’m finally decided and take the risk of studying again and take photography as a course, your pictures inspired me a lot. hopefully I could meet you.
As i viewed every wedding photos i was just stunned and I could feel that each photo has its own emotion, all of it was captured perfectly and I wasn’t even aware I smiling the whole time. You were able to capture the moment and show it in photos. Every photos has its own drama and style and because it was done in a unique way i was able to relate and feel the joy as if I know them….. job well done…best wishes to all and I’m so glad I had a chance to view this site.

HI! I happen to come across this website and I was in awe! Wow… i mean… these are beautiful pictures, sentimental, and what I wanted my pictures would turn out to be when I get married. My brother is a photographer and videographer and when I showed him the pictures here, he was amazed also. To find a superb and truly aritistic photographer - which he also said your style is mixed with classic, you’re truly amazing! I am currently studying Adobe photoshop and I got some ideas from your lay outs here. Is it ok if I apply some of your style on the new lay-out im making? I love most of all, this collage. I love to see happy faces during special occasions especially weddings. I have also been reading some of the tips about wedding time which is good for picture taking. I appreciate the tips u have been posting here. It really helps.
Take care and thank you for the inspiration.

Today I decided to post a few of my favorite wedding images from the 2006 wedding season. I will post more favorite images in the following weeks.I would love to hear your feedback.
I just love this image. We are so lucky to be able to capture moments such as this.

Somebody told me that this image is very similar to one that Denis Reggie took some time ago. All I can say is that this a truly spontaneous moment. This couple was so in love with this photo that they ordered a 30×40 inch print to be displayed in their living room.

This is what wedding photo journalism is all about: “the capture of true moments as they unfold”

The Couple: Michelle and Eric
The Photographer Corvallis Oregon Wedding Photographer : Juan Carlos Torres

We took a short walk to the Oregon State University Campus and found this spot where the light was just amazing. It took just a few minutes to capture this beautiful wedding images.

This is my favorite action photo of the day!. I will submit to the next contest of the Wedding Photo Journalism Association (WPJA).

The photo below is a an example of how to improve a photo by using remote lights. This reception place was very dark. We couldn’t believe how beautiful the cake was. It is even more amazing that it was home made.

We had a good share of weddings in Corvallis this winter. Normally this time of year we photograph weddings in the Portland area. As you can see in the photos above it was a lot fun to photograph Michelle and Eric. it was a little cold but we managed to capture some really nice shots that truly show their love and joy.

The Venue: Cannon Beach Country Club
The Couple: Riesley and Dylan
The Photographer Oregon Wedding Photographer : Juan Carlos Torres
Cannon Beach Oregon evoques a place of enchantment, natural beauty and romance. We are delighted that Riesley and Dylan selected such a unique place for their wedding. The trip from Corvallis was long but it was worth capturing lots of beautiful wedding pictures. Their love, romance, and joy was contagious. We really enjoyed photographing their wedding.

Here is one of my favorite photos of the day. Capturing this photo truly made my day. Just when I was about to click the seagull appeared. This one is definitely going to the next wedding photography competition at the Professional Photographers of Oregon.

I was not able to attend the wedding, so your photographs allow me to share in the experience. (Dylan is a “step-nephew” of mine). The photographs are an incredible documentation: creative, playful, unusual. The “decisive moment” and sharpened awareness was present with the photographer. I have photographed many weddings, and rarely see the kind of images you made.
Congratulations to you, and to THEM!
Cherie Hiser, Photographic Image Gallery, Portland, Oregon

We are happy to receive e-mails and comments from our wedding couples. Here is one we just got:
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you again for such a wonderful display of professionalism. You and Juan Carlos were truly a team in helping make our day as great as it was. We were thrilled with the creative use of the house across from the church. My sisters commented on you a number of times, I think out of a bit of jealousy maybe remembering what some of theirs turned out like. One of them was wondering if you would like to travel to NY if she can get back into her dress. I told her I think there might be a travel fee for that one. So thank you again very much. And even though we will be waiting patiently as we want you to take all the processing time you need, we’re going to be absolutely thrilled to see the pictures.

I just receive a nice comment from a fellow photographer:
I’m so impressed by what I saw here in your site. Wonderful!!!
I’ve been looking through verious sites since a few days and nothing,
really nothing could be compared with the images included here.
Now about wedding photography. I’ve always loved photography (though my speciality
is something too far from it), especially black and white photography.
But I couldn’t even imagine how eager would I be one day to become a wedding photographer.
I’m a beginner. I know I have much to learn and achieve but what I feel inside and why
have decided to become one is the following:
I think photographer is not just a profession, it’s a way of thinking and living.
I love my job, I love to see people too happy and I love earning money with joy
(never give up, just in case).
I have made my mind to enter this business to return the joy of people getting
married and their families and friends via my photos. One day I felt I do want it.
Wedding photographer should be a willing person with creative mind, an artist
and should be too shrewd to catch that single moment, which would not be repeated
for another shot, one must have too deep knowledge and experience. I’ll do my best.
And also I found out that I want to catch every single blink that is
possible and transfer into paper for a long and lasting life.
Thanks for your great photos and for your assistance.
Respectfully,
Shushan
Thanks a lot Shushan. I hope you become a succesful wedding photographer. It is a great journey!.

We really enjoyed photographing Laura and Chris wedding in Roseburg. The day was perfect and the hard part was selecting the photos to print from so many good ones :).
We just received an e-mail from Sharon the mother of the bride. It just made our day.
Dear Sandra and Juan Carlos,
WOW!!!I am blown away! The photos are absolutely marvelous.
You are sooooooo good! Thank so much for giving us so much! Your talent is incredible - what more can I say.
I also want to tell you that my friend Carlene Roters who came out from Silver City, NM for the wedding told me how impressed she was at the way you two work together. She said it was like watching a well choreographed dance - the way you moved around each other and the people in the wedding.
She is an artist, too. Her web site is carleneroters.com
I started looking at the photos at about 6:30 pm and just have not been able to tear myself away until just now. They are so beautiful and full of character and charm. Thank you again. I’ll have to spread the word first thing tomorrow.
Warmest Regards,
Sharon Richert
We just received another e-mail from Sharon. To think that somebody has such level of appreciation for our artistic work really fills our hearts with joy and motivates us to try even harder to capture the spririt, joy and romance of the wedding day!.
Here is the e-mail:
Dear Sandra and Juan Carlos,As I viewed more of the wedding photos today I began to experience them on a deeper level and they began to speak to me on a much deeper level. The words that came to me today as I viewed your work might mean more to you than my first outburst of excitement.
….Deeply moving stunningly beautiful ballet of images that capture the spirit of this cultures’ traditions of marriage union of man and woman.
Hauntingly beautiful……..Acutely sensitive photographer’s eye…..capturing the cultural mythology of marriage in the Western world.
Artistic capture of some of the most fleeting and beautiful moments in two family’s lives.
And I haven’t even finished viewing them all…………there are so many.
Thank you again.
Warmest Regards,
Sharon

The Venue: The Villa at Little Cape Horn Cathlament Washington
The Couple: Corin and Markus
The Photographer Portland Oregon Wedding Photographer : Juan Carlos Torres
I can’t believe I haven’t had the chance to blog for 2 weeks. With the oregon wedding season here, buying a new home, and the World Cup my life has been really busy. I promise that from this week on and with weddings every weekend until October I will have a wedding featured every week.
For their intimate wedding Corin and Markus selected one of the most beautiful wedding venues we have seen, the Villa at Little Cape Horn in Cathlament Washington. The place overlooks the Columbia River and its great views of the Oregon mountains and its warm Italian architecture makes it the perfect place for wedding pictures.
Corin and Markus were a delight to work with. Their love for each other is evident in each of their pictures. We were all over the Italian Villa using the colorful backgrounds to capture their romance and joy.

Dear Juan Carlos and Sandra
Before returning to my desk tonight, I sat down again with Joan and Jon’s wedding album for a few minutes. It is amazingly beautiful. Thank you both for your hard work and application of your considerable talents. We shall enjoy it for all our lives as a memento of a very special event. You have included just the right mix to be both aesthetically pleasing and to stimulate memories of each moment. Thank you again.

The Place: Salem Oregon
The Venue: The Reed Opera House Downtown Salem
The Couple: Jill and Nolan
The Photographer Salem Oregon Wedding Photographer : Juan Carlos Torres

Wedding season is here and we are so excited and happy to have the opportunity to capture love and emotion all over Oregon. Jill and Nolan wedding was awesome. There is so much love in this couple and their joyful personalities made our photography session a great time. We had a chance to go to downtown Salem looking for the perfect backdrop and light for these beautiful pictures.
We invited Jill to tell us about their relationship. Here is what she wrote: Our relationship started as a strong friendship. We met through the college/career group at church and had mutual friends. Because we weren’t romantically interested in each other we didn’t have to go through a time of trying to be impressive. Once the romance started in August of 2005, things moved quickly because we’d already seen all sides of each other–the good, bad, happy, sad, irritated, etc.
We were engaged in December and quickly planned the wedding for May. Everything came together perfectly the day of the wedding! As we drove away from the reception we couldn’t stop talking about how great the day was. It was everything we’d hoped for. Juan Carlos and Sandra helped make our day so much fun. The picture time after the ceremony with just the two of us was especially enjoyable. Then, at the reception we felt like we had our personal shadows making sure each special moment would be remembered. We are so happy to have the perfect day memorialized by the perfect pictures.
